A Voice Calling

Interactive Reading Workshops in Narrative Texts

We are excited to open the doors of our new studio in Kiryat Hamelacha for exploratory sessions with the art of reading aloud: a six-module workshop where you can become acquainted with the working methods we have developed as a group, dive with us into captivating texts, and join the long search our group has been conducting, uncovering paths that lead words from the page to the stage.

The act of reading aloud in narrative texts transforms the written word into an active force, that generates miraculous possible worlds. Throughout the six workshop sessions, we will read passages of prose and poetry, mainly by Hebrew writers, focusing on exposing the rhythms, intonations, and theatrical potential of written words. We will examine the performative power of spoken words and offer possibilities for creating dialogue, situations, and encounters. This workshop is open to anyone curious to explore delving into literary works and experimenting with both individual and collective reading techniques.

Led by the actors from our theater group: Adi Meirovitch, Shirley Gal, Siwar Awwad, Ronen Babluki. The opening session will feature a meeting with director Ruth Kenner.

At the ‘Local Tale Studio’ in Kiryat Hamelacha, Tel Aviv.

These sessions will occur bi-weekly, exact start date will be announced shortly.
